Technology has had a massive impact on how we now date. Thanks to the computer over the past number of years online dating has exploded into something that was probably never predicted in the beginning. Maybe it’s the fast pace world that we now live in but lots of people are using social networks, Internet dating websites (free and paid), instant messaging, and e-mail it’s all quick, fast paced and most of the time time-consuming, addictive, impersonal, and leaves many people with a tendency to shop around as they may not like the look of a particular picture.

Shopping around seems to be so quick people tend to make decisions quickly. This is not how we function as human’s looking for a relationship. Why does it have to be so quick and moving at 100 miles an hour? There are lots of advantages to online dating because it will help increase the possibilities of actually meeting somebody. It gives you an opportunity to shop around and see what’s out there. But, there are disadvantages also because half the time you have no idea who you’re talking to. There can be a tendency to be dishonest about who they really are and what they’re looking for. People can be dishonest about their age, height, weight, whether they are single or married. They can be dishonest about anything they want which unfortunately is one of the major downsides of this online dating world.

It can be very difficult to portray sense of humour, irony and simple things like the tone of the conversation using e-mail or instant messaging because sometimes these can get lost as you are typing. It was a conversation with somebody a sense of the tone could come across completely differently. All relationships are built on communication and communication in this way can be quite difficult.

Sometimes you wonder if some people are simply looking to get away from their day-to-day lives and live a fantasy. That’s what the Internet can offer. Although there are many people that do I also met and married in online relationships are a close friend. Dating without much success, and almost never successful Internet business.
